legacy of ugly logos

So you are a budding entrepreneur or you just got an idea to come up with your own startup. And if you are struggling hard(spending much time) to get a nice, beautiful & attractive logo! think again. Your logo should not eat much of your time. If you want to learn from history and establish an extremely successful business, you may start with a very stupid logo. Long story short, just start with any good logo(without spending too much time).

Trust me, you will stop hating your half baked design after looking at ugly logos with which world’s leading technical companies started. Have a look below:first logo of facebook(the facebook)facebook(originally, thefacebook). World’s largest social networking site, founded by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow Harvard University students Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum,Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.

cannoncannon's first logo

should HP’s TouchPad embrace Android 4.1 :

Web OS was(however its still alive!) an amazing platform which HP could harness to become big player in mobile industry. Now web os has nothing to do with giving any kind of competition to the current mega heroes(android and ios). Now web os is open source and HP can use the power of community development. But at the same time open source world is also being cluttered with new mobiles operating systems. Mozilla is coming with its own os and Tizen may be released somewhere this year on devices.  In this situation there is little probability that HP can get anything good in mobile industry unless it come up with some really amazing and groundbreaking products. Android is doing extremely well and backed by Google. I think Tizen will also be able to  pose significant image in the market as it is under the umbrella of ‘The Linux Foundation’. There’s left little chance for HP. If HP embrace Android then it has to come up with great hardware to compete samsung. If it goes with its own adopted child, web os, then it will have to manage both but then it can serve something different with better os(if possible) on good hardware.

Or the best thing HP can do is to just wait and watch and leave the playground for other players.

outlook.com launched by M$

Microsoft has launched outlook.com to give some fight to gmail. It has got sleek and lightweight interface but I still doubt it can give any serious competition to gmail. I never liked its hotmail or live email services and thus never used my live and hotmail accounts for any communication.

The new interface of outlook.com is better than the earlier and M$ has added few more things (like facebook, twitter) to make it more attractive but still far from giving a tough competition to gmail anytime soon.

Google finally gets right to use Gmail trademark

Google launched Gmail in Germany in 2005, but it was quickly barred from using the Gmail name for its email product there.  Daniel Giersch, a German entrepreneur had registered the ‘G-mail’ trademark (short for Giersch mail) for his physical and electronic mail service in Germany in 2000. German Internet users who wanted to use Gmail had to go to googlemail.com. Google tried to appeal this decision, but ran out of legal options in 2007, after Europe’s Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market rejected its appeal. But last week Google quietly settled its dispute with Giersch. According to Germany’s GoogleWatchBlog, the gmail.de domain and the Gmail trademark were transferred to Google on April 13.

Google is introducing the public test of its new project code-named ‘google glass’.

Have a sneak peek in the future after hitting the google glass in stores.

Its time for Apple and facebook to fear.
